WULAN FOLKLORE (BRUNEI)

There’s was a legend the beautiful princess down from the sky and her name is Wulan. She usually plays and sing at the paddy field, but unfortunately someday she can’t go home to her castle in the sky because had a human or Mak Puteh and Pak Tam took his fly shawl while she sings and plays at the paddy field. Then, Mak Puteh pretends to sympathies and with her kindness Mak Puteh took Wulan to stay with her family. At home, Mak Puteh introduces her husband (Pak Tam) and his son (Jamal), Wulan can stay with Mak Puteh family but with one condition, while Wulan cook the rice nobody can open the cover of rice pot. Then, with pleasure Pak Tam, Mak Puteh and Jamal agreed with the condition. Next, one day, Pak Tam had a bad luck when he bitten by snake while he work in the paddy field, situation of Pak Tam was so serious he can’t take longer and him call his son Jamal to marry with Wulan that’s last hope Pak Tam for Jamal. Then, Jamal agreed and married Wulan and got the girl cute twin babies and theirs name Melati and Cempaka. After that, when Melati and Cempaka plays something, Melati found the fly shawl belongs to Wulan. Then, Melati and Cempaka fighting each other to snatch the Wulan fly shawl. Wulan heard the fighting and called her twins daughter to help her clearing around the house. Wulan ask why they fighting each other, Cempaka told Wulan about the Fly shawl and Wulan took the shawl then the twins not longer fight each other, Wulan wondering why her fly shawl can be at her husband house but Wulan don’t care about it until….. Jamal open the cover the pot rice that’s because he wonder why Wulan never allow opening the pot rice while cooking. Then, Wulan saw Jamal broke he promises and take the fly shawl and going to her castle in the sky. Finally, since that Wulan never come back to visit her family.

Task 9 "househusband"

Based on the text given by our lectures is “Househusbands”, in the other words man or husband working in the house, then wife going out for work. That’s occurring in American families. It’s not an easy life; a man has to change many of his ideas and his ways. That’s so much different when working outside and inside home, working outside home usually everything must be hurry and time always important. But at home it’s different; a househusband cannot be hurry all the time that can cause everyone unhappy. Then men must learn to slow down because that is the first and most important rule for a househusband. Other wise, the househusband must be smart to show felling about something, the children need to know if theirs father angry and the father need to tell them or explain carefully, in that the child can understand easily, a househusband have to do that for avoid the families may get the wrong idea. Then, when the househusband didn’t do that there may be had serious problems. Other than that, househusband doing the housework such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and also take cares theirs children. But, it was the easiest things to learn and that the way he acts with the other family. For the conclusions, being a “Househusband” had to change  the way he thinks about time, smart to spent time to make everybody happy.

Task 8 If I were the main character....

Based on the movie I had watched is “The Mist”, its kind of horror movie with the other living things from the other planets or we called it ALIEN. Other than that, the story of the movie its all about a father tried to protect his families and other people, but it’s too late until he trapped in the store with the others.  Other wise, the father on this movie was a courage, and smarter man. But, when he lost hope his started to give up protecting the others and him think its better kill his son with their own hand, than his son died eaten by the ALIENS. Then, if I were the main character or be the father in this movie I will protect my family from everything, nobody or other living thing especially ALIENS can hurts them. Besides, I will think logically and NEVER kill my sons when I lost hope to protect them or give up because it CANT’T be. Everything had solutions when we be more patients and think more logically.  Nothing impossible we can’t do in this world, except something had relation with god such us make a decisions who in the heaven or hell on the future. For the conclusions, I will protect my families until my last blood drop on the earth, I have to do that because theirs my responsibility to take care of it.   

Common Mistakes that always I do in Writing

a     Grammar problem

-          Don’t know how to used grammar properly.

-          Always do mistakes for the simple grammar such as past tense and present tense

-          Lack use adjective

-          Can’t arrange the words properly

-          Always forget used connectors.

b     Have a problem to start the essay or summary.

-          Lack of new words for started the essay

-          Have problem to translate Malay language to English

-         Hard to construct the best introduction

c English was not difficult subject. I tried my best to control it, but that can’t be if I lazy to studied the subject.

d     Suggestion to overcome the problem

-          Keep read English newspaper, magazines, novel, article, and so on.

-          Practise talk in English with friends

-          Do practices make an essay, summary and check grammar properly.

Paragraph:

Water is one of the basic human needs.  Firstly, water pollution coming from chemical and industrial processes. When factories pour their chemicals and livestock wastes directly into rivers, the water becomes poisonous and oxygen levels are depleted causing many aquatic organisms to die. After that, cause of water pollution is from pesticides. Farm pesticides poison aquatic plants and animals. Animal manure, chemical fertilizers, pollutes water by supplying excess nutrients. It can be effect decreasing the amount of oxygen level in water causing the death of many aquatic organisms. Other than that, water is also being polluted by garbage specifically plastics and other plastic-like substances. Plastics can’t be decayed, when it is eaten by fish or other aquatic animals such as walrus it can be cause their death. For the conclusion, water is a natural resource that we need to preserve for a large contribution in our daily lives, no water no life.

PARAGRAPH WRITING 

a) Paragraph:

I love to eat Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). That’s my favourite food. Especially “Chicken Rice Combo” It contains two piece of chicken. Such as, wings, drumstick or chicken breast.  Furthermore, it also has a bowl of rice, slices of cucumber, appetizer or chicken ball soup and beverages. After that, the price of it not very expensive. Everybody can buy and eat it. The price is RM10.70 but it not a permanent price. Usually the price follows kind of area. Other than that, Kentucky Fried Chicken is not a healthy food. It contains so much fat and sugar. Such as, fat from the fried chicken and a lot of sugars from the beverages, like Pepsi, Strawberry F&N, Mountain Dew, Revive, 100plus and so on.  But in it we can get vitamin from the fresh slices of cucumber. However, it’s not comparable with contain of fat in it. For the conclusion, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) was unforgettable food taste.

Exercise can give the best health to our body. Take time for 10 minutes to exercise daily. Before going to work or college take 10 minutes for jogging or some kind of exercise to keep our body fit and fresh. Next, exercise can help prevent excess weight gain or help maintain weight loss. Other than that, get more active throughout the day in simple ways by taking the stairs, its better than taking the elevator, it can burn our fat faster.  After that, exercises promote better sleep. Moreover regular physical activity can help fall asleep faster. Don’t do exercise too close to bed time. It may make our body more tired and late to wake up for tomorrow morning. For the conclusion, daily exercise can give better health and keep fit.

WRITING PROCESS

STEP 1:  PREWRITING                  

·         Decide on a topic to write about.

·         Brainstorm ideas about the subject.

·         List places the information.

·         Do research.

STEP 2:  DRAFTING

·         Put the information with own words.

·         Write sentences and paragraphs even if they are not perfect.

 STEP 3:  REVISING (EDITING)                

·         Rearrange words or sentences.

·         Take out or add parts.

·         Replace overused or unclear words.

STEP 4: FINAL COPY            

·         Be sure all sentences are complete.

·         Correct spelling, capitalization, and punctuation.

·         Change words that are not used correctly

·         Recopy it correctly and neatly.

WHAT IS LOVE TO YOU?

Love is an emotion for the living things. Especially human, they prove the love with caring each other, and also getting married. Love is also a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection. The unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another. Love may be understood as part of the survival instinct, a function to keep human beings together against menaces and to facilitate the continuation of the species. Love also can spread with animal, that we keep as pet, love the environment, care our earth with planting flowers, responsible for the cleanliness of the environment and practise the concept of permanent green. Through love we can know about that person closely. Without love, life is nothing.
